“Every time I hit the shutter, I aim to deconstruct and distort the persistent defeminization of the body as someone who was socialized as a black woman. The sole purpose of anything that I create or do is to uplift and celebrate black and queer communities. My entire life I have longed for a space where I saw my intersectional identity not just be represented, but celebrated. Art has given me the space, voice and courage to be unapologetic about who I am.”
